专家简介	Dr. Fuhua Lin is a Professor and of School of Computing and Information Systems, Faculty of Science and Technology of Athabasca University of Canada. He serves as Associate Dean of Faculty of Graduate Studies of the University. Dr. Lin obtained his PhD from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) in Hong Kong in 1998. Prior to working in Athabasca University, Dr. Lin was a Research Officer of Institute for Information Technology of National Research Council (NRC) of Canada. Dr. Lin did post-doc research at University of Calgary during 1998-1999. His current main research interests are algorithms, optimization, multi-agent systems and machine learning.

内容简介	AI researchers strive to build rational and intelligent agents capable of perceiving the world around them and taking actions to advance specified goals, creating new species of machine, called machina economicus. In this talk, I will discuss methodologies, techniques, and challenges in mechanism design, finding best response strategies to solve online and multi-agent scheduling problems. Some real-world application examples in project scheduling in oil and gas industry etc. from my ongoing research projects will be used to explain the achievements, problems, and future work of this research area.
